Russian and Eurasian studies (REST) is a multifaceted field that aims to give students an understanding of this vital region鈥檚 history, politics, environment, literature, and culture, along with proficiency in the Russian language. Students can choose courses from a rich interdisciplinary curriculum that includes offerings in literary and cultural studies, history, geography, environmental studies, and political science, taking advantage of 91短视频's unusual array of specialists on Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia working across diverse disciplines. Prospective majors, and those with an interest in Russian language, should begin REST 121 as soon as possible. The major requires a minimum of two years of language. Students who continue into advanced Russian are encouraged to spend a semester studying Russian abroad on one of 91短视频's approved programs in the Baltics, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Courses throughout the curriculum are interdisciplinary and culminate in a senior seminar in which majors pursue advanced research or a thesis in a collaborative environment. Many of our students choose to combine Russian and Eurasian studies with a wide range of second majors or minors. Recent graduates have found work in intelligence, foreign service, consulting, law, business, NGOs, education, and finance; a significant number have pursued graduate study.
