Tempestry: The Art of Climate Data

March 31鈥揗ay 3, 2026*
Opening reception: Friday, April 10, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.

The 91短视频 Tempestry Project represents a year-long collaboration between Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Environmental Studies Program, the Residential Commons, University Museums, and the Center for Women鈥檚 Studies, as well as over 30 crafters from among 91短视频's student body, faculty, staff, and alumni. The exhibition will feature crocheted and knitted representations of local climate data, or "tempestries," from key years in 91短视频's history.

This project represents part of a broader initiative developed by the , founded by Asy Connelly and Emily McNeil. 鈥淥ne of the ongoing problems inherent in discussions about climate change is the vast scale of the conversation. The Tempestry Project鈥檚 goal is to scale this down into something that is accurate, tangible, relatable, and beautiful. By blending fiber art with temperature data, Tempestries (a portmanteau of 鈥榯emperature tapestries鈥) create a bridge between global climate and our own personal experiences.鈥

The exhibition will be available for viewing beginning March 31. We look forward to celebrating this collaboration with an opening reception on April 10th to coincide with Arts, Creativity, and Innovation weekend and 13 Days of Green programming.

*Tempestry will also be open for special hours for commencement and reunion weekends and available for community group visits by appointment through June 2026.
