Major Requirements
The requirements for the major are as follows:
All of the Following
- Two 100-level courses chosen from among GEOG 105, 107, 108, and 122
- GEOG 231Â -Â Geography of the Physical Environment
- GEOG 245Â -Â Geographic Information Systems and GEOG 245LÂ (completed by the end of the fall semester of the senior year)
- Four additional GEOG elective credits, only one of which can be at the 100-level
- GEOG 401Â -Â Senior Seminar
Additional Stipulations
- Courses taken off-campus cannot be used to substitute for GEOG 231, 245, or 401.
- Students may substitute upper-level courses for either or both of the 100-level courses required for the major.
GPA Requirement
To qualify with a major in geography, students must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.00 over all courses taken in the department.
