Since 2011, John Levisay ’89 has been crafting the perfect online learning experience with his start-up called Craftsy, which offers classes ranging from quilting to jewelry making to photography. On May 11, it was announced that NBCUniversal is acquiring majority ownership of Craftsy. Levisay will continue in a leadership role, reporting to NBCU Cable’s president of strategy and commercial growth.

Amanda Liberman ’17, of Reading, Mass., has received 91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s 1819 Award, given annually to a student whose character, scholarship, sportsmanship, and service to others best exemplify the university’s spirit and the value of a liberal arts education.

Kevin Iglesias ’17, of Silver Spring, Md., has been awarded a Fulbright research grant to travel to Brazil to study public health. Howard Fineman ’70, H’11, one of 91¶ÌÊÓƵ’s most well-known alumni in the media field, has been appointed global editorial director at the Huffington Post. Fineman, who was previously an editorial director at the company, will now be in charge of supervising U.S. news coverage as well 13 international editions and others that will come online in the future.
