When Carly Keller ’13, Sarah Vondracek ’13, and Sarah Cochran ’14 enrolled in Community-Based Study on Environmental Issues (ENST 390) with Professor Christopher Henke during the fall of 2012, they devised a strategy to move 91����Ƶ toward a zero-waste commencement.

Few in attendance were surprised when Evan Chartier ’14, a sociology and anthropology and women’s studies double major from Oak Park Ill., was called to receive the 1819 Award, 91����Ƶ’s most selective and prestigious recognition.

At ALANA’s Spring Soiree, Garfield O. Smith ’85 recognized the contributions of previous 91����Ƶ students who have paved the way for current students — including those receiving this year’s multicultural awards.
